Food Waste Disposer Vertical 2,5 Kw (Medium Waste)
Article no: 530VATFModel no: 530V-ATF
The AFT vertical food waste disposer provides efficient and immediate removal of food waste whenever it arises. In addition, it will improve hygiene in the working environment by eliminating odors and bacteria formation. It will also minimize manual handling for the crew.
The model provides excellent flexibility at the installation and is also the preferred choice when height is crucial.
Having the motor side-mounted and out from under the grinding chamber eliminates any motor damage caused by water leakage. To minimize sound emission, the outer housing of stainless steel EN 1.4301 (AISI 304) is sound-absorbing.
The quality grinding unit with hardness from specially cast steel alloy and protection class IP55 or higher on electrical components ensures reliable operation and low maintenance costs.
With an ATF, assembly installation is simplified as no welding is required when mounting on-site. The unit is installed in the sink’s existing drain outlet using a screw joint reinforcement.
Coldwater will automatically flow through the nozzle when the disposer starts and flush the food waste into the grinding chamber and continue into the sewer system or connected tank. Also included is a feeder and cutlery trap to be placed in the inlet of the disposer during operation.
All Disperator Excellent 500-Series of disposers have the Statement of Compliance issued by DNV GL verifying compliance with applicable sections of MARPOL Annex V REGULATIONS FOR THE CONTROL OF POLLUTION BY GARBAGE FROM SHIPS AND PLATFORMS, as amended in 2019.

Other general information
In accordance with the IMO document ‘2017 Guidelines for the implementation of MARPOL Annex V’, the discharge from the disposer should be directed into an appropriately constructed holding tank when the ship is operating within an area where discharge is prohibited. In addition, in order to avoid non-compliance with MARPOL, ground food waste from a disposer shall not be discharged into a vessel’s sewage treatment plant as it will contribute to increased levels of BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and the sewage treatment plant might fail to treat the sewage in accordance with IMO requirements.
