Tallink’s First LNG-Powered Ro-Pax Ferry
Megastar: A New Standard in Baltic Sea Travel
The construction of Tallink's new car ferry began on 4 August 2015, and the keel was laid on 9 February 2016. On 1 July 2016, the ship was named Megastar, chosen from 21,550 proposals in a public naming contest launched by President Tarja Halonen. The vessel was floated out on 15 July, and the sea trials were scheduled for late 2016. The ship was delivered on 24 January 2017.

Turnkey Galleys and Bars for Tallink’s Megastar
The restaurants and bars are located mainly on decks 8 and 9. The interiors of the restaurant and bar areas are created by the acknowledged Finnish designer Vertti Kivi. The bars were built by LMG Finland, part of Loipart Group, which also did the turnkey installation of the galleys serving all restaurants.
After its completion and handover to Tallink, the vessel began providing a six-times-a-day Tallinn-Helsinki-Tallinn service from late January 2017.
